Bitumen Shingle

Shingles are outer roof coverings, meaning they are exposed to all the weather conditions. This outer roof covering contains three basic components that provide the protection/long-term durability. These components are: a base material, a specially formulated asphalts coating and a surfacing of weather resistant mineral granules, flakes of slate or a metal foil. The shingles should be CE Marked.

There are different types of shingles on the market: square shingles, round shingles, self-adhesive shingles, triangular shingles, hexagonal shingles, laminated shingles, ...

Shingles may only be applied on roofs with slopes that comply with the manufacturers guidelines. Certain countries may have different regulations. Check local building codes.

Shingles are wonderful, wind resistant roofing product that allows architects to build exceptional buildings and owners to feel safe under their roof. Worldwide, it is one of the most frequently used and liked roofing materials. But proper application of the shingles is needed.
